Creative Conversations: Starting Your Creative Career In Texas

3 February @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

As an emerging creative in Austin, it might seem daunting to try to build a creative career for yourself. You might be wondering things like, “Where do I start?” and “How do I financially sustain myself doing what I love?” It can also be difficult to find the right resources and people to start your creative career, especially if you want to remain in Texas.

To answer these questions, the Austin Film Society and Austin Public Library will present a special edition of AFS’s Creative Conversations series on Saturday, February 3, at the library’s Central location. This free event will give attendees the chance to hear industry professionals tell the stories behind their personal career journeys. This edition of the series will feature a conversation between Jeffrey Jenkins (travel host for NatGeo and Disney+) and Dave Claunch (founder and CEO at Liaison Creative & Marketing) moderated by Sharon Arteaga (acclaimed local filmmaker and AFS Senior Manager of Filmmaker Support). Join us to get inspired, to get a glimpse into the AFS Creative Careers workforce development program, and to learn more about how you can break into the creative media industries of Central Texas and beyond!

All ages welcome
