5 Reasons You Shouldn’t Skip Out On F1 Race Weekend in Austin

F1 race week in Austin is one of the best weeks of the year and you need to get in on the action! It’s a fast-paced time filled with high octane events, ending with one of the best racing experiences in the country.

Here are 5 reasons you should experience F1 in Austin!

The Parties and Pop-Ups

Events begin early in the week and last throughout F1 race weekend. In 2023, Williams Racing is once again hosting a pop-up for fans on Congress Avenue downtown. You can also join Global Poker as they rev up the excitement with “The Austin Pit Stop.” Guests can enjoy interactive experiences, live music, full service bar, food trucks, and the opportunity to meet celebrity guests, including Olympic legend Michael Phelps. There’s also a Cash App Pop-Up at Allen’s Boots and an electrifying musical experience in Bastrop called Formula Wonderfest, starring the legendary Paul Oakenfold. The Music

Some of the most talked about events featured big name music acts. There’s the music out at COTA, of course. Headliners for this year’s event are The Killers, Queen, and Tiesto. There are also late night concerts happening at Mayfair and Superstition featuring artists like The Chain Smokers, LOCASH, and DIPLO.

The Fan Experience

Out at the track, there are always plenty of things to keep fans busy between track sessions. Fans can enjoy photo ops, vendors, games, and rides! There are also biergartens, cantinas, sponsor suites, and so much more. You never know what you’ll see at a one-of-a-kind event like this one!

The Celebrities

The celebrity sightings are always abundant during an F1 race. From the drivers, to the A-list performers to all of the famous fans, celebrities can be spotted all over the city and, of course, in the paddock on race day! The most talked about person at the track in 2022 was most definitely Brad Pitt. Other stars we spotted in the past include: Will Arnett, Scott Eastwood, John Legend, Shaq, Pharrel Williams, and many more. Check out the full list here.

The Race

And then there’s the big event. In 2022, Red Bull not only celebrated Max Verstappen’s championship title but the Red Bull team also claimed the constructor championship while at COTA. Both championships have already been decided for 2023, but that doesn’t make things any less exciting. We can’t wait to see who gets to stand on that podium this year.
